I touch generation are consuming music in a completely different way. I touch generation are best defined by the democratisation of how they want to consume mass media (tv, music, movies, news, etc). Back in the day the previous generation would have to be spoon fed everything at a specific time and in a specific way. If you missed scheduled programming that was it, you missed it or you watched it on a badly recorded vcr tape if you could figure out how to program it.

I touch generation are also purchasing turntables (or dusting off dad's), buying long-playing vinyl records and giving them a spin. Like the comeback of puma sneakers or vintage t shirts, vinyl's resurgence has benefited from its retro-rock aura.

I touch generation are missing out on far more than just sound quality. When i bought my current hifi, i spent ages researching, listening in shops and haggling to get exactly what i wanted. When i bought my last ipod, i nipped into sainsbury's and bought exactly the same machine that most people have.

I touch generation are going to look for amplfiers with profiles on them: "rock", "jazz" "speech" and the like (which predictably perhaps i do not like either - i make my own profiles using my own ears. Forgetting about putting frequency enhancing and cutting circuitry in analogue circuitry for a moment.

I touch generation are at risk of hearing damage later in life because they're exposing their ears to too much loud music. I touch generation are generally more savvy about more kinds of music than their pre-ipod peers.

I touch generation are missing out on a whole lifetime's worth of the experiences that shaped, moulded and defined mine and that's a shame of immense magnitude. We can't turn back the clock nor should we want to and technology has bestowed undoubted benefits that we should appreciate.

I touch generation are still very much in tune with radio. I touch generation are purchasing record players to spin music, which begs me to ask how you prefer listen to your own music.

I touch generation are arguably much better off than their parents, having grown up in relative political and economic stability and high consumer goods affluence.   however as a result of this stability they have developed a false sense of security, and lack the instinctive fear of previous generations with regards to financial provision.
